AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH -
I've just been reminded (ever so gently, thanks Darin!) that this is not our usual problem.!
It's a Vistalizator issue :)
(My brain has been set on the Intel Rapid problem for the past few weeks, so I missed the .mui at the end of the affected filenames).
Please see the Vistalizator thread at the head of this forum -

The set of file mismatches above are typical of one of two causes:-1) a restore from an image backup of the system2) a failed driver updateThe only one for which we currently have a solution is the second.....Installing the Intel Rapid Storage Driverstry downloading and installing them from here -- you’ll need the set for the x64 (64-bit) platform on Win7Once complete, please reboot twice, then post another MGADiag report.Good Luck!

Nope – I’m out of ideas, I’m afraid.Your best option is going to be to see if WGA support can help -
WGA Support can be found here-North America: http://support.microsoft.com/contactus/cu_sc_genadv_master?ws=support&ws=support#tab4
Outside North America:
http://support.microsoft.com/contactus/?ws=support#tab0
Please let us know if (and how) MS manage to repair the problem without a repair install of the OS - it would be useful for future reference!

Thank you v much for your efforts
So far my research SEEMS to indicate because I had a FRENCH version and then selected English to use with it then a patch recently screwed up the system
This may not be the case but it does match some issue examples I have found from people whose PCs are still out of kilter

The link for support outside of the USA does not work
Do you have another

I see one person with SAME issue deleted SP1 but there is a warning also
Removing the Win 7 sp1 update from my pc, seems that solves the problem for now.
thanksREPLY says
You're welcome & thanks for your feedback. However, there will come a point in the not-too-distant future when Win7 Gold (no Service Packs) will NOT be supported and you MUST have Win7 SP1 installed in order to receive any further critical security updates.
The clock is ticking...

Please see the Vistalizator thread at the head of this forum -
Vistalizator, Multilingual users and Validation problems

Me too Noel. I was observing this thread and missed it. I haven't seen Vistalizator issues for a while and went right by it.

Thank you both
1 On using the link for microsoft support outside the US, I see that as I have an oem retail CD for Win 7 64 supplied by HP with the machine I cannot contact microsoft
2 HP do not have any links to this issue, to resolve it
3 How can I reach microsoft, as when I enter my serial number it says contact your PC supplier
4 I repeat, I purchased PC in France, using it in English, but speak French, IF I purchase Ultimate will it cure the problem, will it erase any data here on the PC
Thanks again

I have to add this comment as I feel it has to continued from the theme in the attached quote below
As a LONG term fan of Microsoft, and now also the purchaser of many licences of similar products as I have more than one PC that only I use, and years ago a public supporter of the OS (I was a business pilot site for 3.1.1)
Then today I see this link below; I live in France, can only get FR OS in the shops, but happen to speak 2 languages and have to pay the penalty, and now to even speak to Microsoft to get the patch to cure this problem I have to pay 46 dollars, and so far the support page to give me access to email the company will not stop hunting. So far 10 minutes despite refreshing and clearing cache. Thank you so much for your help on this; Will Ultilmate upgrade solve the issue and not delete settings and files - Thanks
"...It's plain stupid in the first place that MS requires you to have the Ultimate version to switch which language to use for your OS. They deserve a boot to the head for this one."
ie Localisation is not resolved

I cannot get the PC back to French mode so cannot upgrade to ULTIMATE
Even though keyboard and Local is selected as FRENCH there are still system prompts showing in English
It is driving a Frenck keyboad ok
If it is a vistilizator issue I really do not recall loading this, maybe i did but I am stuck
HP did not supply a CD WIN 7, there are files on the D partition of the C drive
HP are not responding to emails
I cannot load Ultimate
So would need to totally loose all my data files and restore from the D partition - Any comments welcome

I’m not sure whether your rant is the result of frustration at the restrictions, or of being caught out.EITHER you have a legal copy of Windows which is capable of using localisation in the way you wish -OR - you don’t.Ultimate edition gives you access to very nearly every language on the planet – Home Premium or any lower edition are limited to the language on which they are initially installed.Surprisingly (?) this is by design.WTF are you complaining about? People pay nearly double for a license for Ultimate for precisely this ability. If you’re not prepared to do so, it’s not MS’s problem, it’s yours.YOU have the choice of where, and from whom to purchase a computer – that choice is not open to MS.

I have a valid version - if you regard other reports of this error it throws up a validation flag as part of the error
Do you really think microsoft help would continue to reply if the validation was not completed correctly and showed I had a valid licence! SO I HAVE A VALID LICENCE
I have never downloaded vistalizator
I have three PCS all with valid licences,
I have an error on this pc after downloading a patch that corrupts the win update page if I am running a French PC with SOME English settings
I have NOT downloaded any language apps, despite one comment saying it is a vistilizator bug. I have never used this software
I WANT to buy ULTIMATE but cannot get the PC back to FRENCH it sticks on ENGLISH so cant load ULTIMATE it wont let me
In FRANCE you can ONLY buy FRENCH OS in this country, despite trying to do otherwise, I could not, save I order from the UK and pay extra transit costs
and risk of damage in transit. So if there is an issue with a patch it is not my fault the quality control took a step down, while I am a fully legal user with many licences
NOW I want to do a full reinstall and HP supply no DVD; The ISO link supplied by microsoft downloaded with no errors but has empty folders so cant do a re install with that either
I remember the day when you paid for a licence you got a DVD! Thanks for taking the time to reply and your critique but I am a valid user now backing up all data Sooner the better when we all have SharePoint cloud
