Hello,
on one of the workstations, trying to open opportunities in Outlook crashes the outlook with this error:
Faulting application name: OUTLOOK.EXE, version: 14.0.4760.1000, time stamp: 0x4ba8fefd Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll, version: 6.1.7600.16385, time stamp: 0x4a5bdaae Exception code: 0xe0434352 Fault offset: 0x00009617 Faulting process id: 0x3194 Faulting application start time: 0x01cbe7ae4e04bc4f Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\OUTLOOK.EXE Faulting module path: C:\Windows\system32\KERNELBASE.dll Report Id: adface0f-53a1-11e0-8253-904ce5fd6296
Opening opportunities in web browser works fine.
What can we do?

1. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the outlook client.
2. If that doesn't work, then try uninstalling both the client and Outlook and then reinstall both.
I am going to guess that one of these might work, otherwise I would suggest reimaging that one workstation. This is a client error issue that may or may not be truely an issue with the outlook client.
I hope this helps!

I had the same problem and had this solution posted to me and it worked:
Could you try deleting the CRM data and reconfiguring?
1. Unconfigure CRM via configuration wizard
2. In explorer, go to %localappdata%\Microsoft\MSCRM\Client and delete all the files
3. Configure CRM again

1. Did not help.
we did 2.
Now it wont connect at all.
I can add organization just fine, but afterwards it keeps saying "CRM is connecting". CRM through browser works. It even semi-works in Outlook - loads the ribbon, you can click "New Item" in it, opens window just fine. But all the settings are disabled, folder icons dont load, none of the folders loads, CRM MenuSuite does not appear...

This looks like two different issues. The second isn't an outlook crash. You might actually be on the right track and now the issue might be how you are configuring the Outlook adapter. Refer to the implementation guide for detailed instructions.
If a reconfigure doesn't work and you are certain that your settings are correct you have to look at what is either wrong with that machine (registry keys, windows firewall, etc....), which would probably be fixed by a re-image or a lot of other windows error related digging on the internet.
If that doesn't help you have to look at things like network topology or a hardware issue.

I assumed this was 2011 becuase I saw the word "ribbon" BUT if you are using 4.0, is your office version 64-bit?
If it is 4.0, then the 4.0 client isn't compatible 64-bit Outlook at all.
I hope this also helps!

This is CRM 2011.
Machine, Office 2010 and Outlook client are all 32 bits.
I'm cautious to call this firewall/network/hardware issue, since it partially works (anything in a new window opens, ribbon loads).
Anyway, the user is rebuilding the machine, so I no longer have ability to debug it further.
I recall a log saying that unmanaged part of plugin failed in CrmServiceConnect or something like that, and the addin was disabled. Which sounds logical, however, I see no reason why would it fail..
