Dynamics CRM Server 2011 - conversion from trial version to full version

Question
-
Where is Forum for Dynamics CRM?
Customer has purchased Dynamics CRM Server 2011 license in Open License (OLP) program. There is no Product Key available on VLSC for this product, as the product downloaded from VLSC does not require one (I was advised that product already includes the Product Key). However, the problem is that customer already has this product installed on-premises - partner configured trial version for customer, and customer was using this trial version for a while. This trial version, because it was not downloaded from VLSC, requires product key.
Now, when customer purchased the license, he would like to activate the product and enter the product key. But unfortunately the Product Key is not available on VLSC. The support team advised to download licensed version from VLSC. Unfortunately, it means that customer or partner has to configure the product again.
So the question is - is it possible to activate the existing trial version? it will be very painful to configure the product again both from time and money perspective.
