3-User License on MS Office Standard 2007 Military Appreciation Edition RRS feed

  • Question

  • ·         Hello MS,  my copy of Office Standard 2007 Military Appreciation Edition will not validate.

Today I purchased one copy of Office Standard 2007 Military Appreciation Edition for two computers.  The loaded software on the first computer activated and validated perfectly.  I am now attempting to install it on the second computer.  The software will not validate as genuine.  This copy of the software was advertised by the military exchange system (AAFES) as a 3-User License for qualified military user – which I am.

I have logged onto the computer experiencing the issue with “Administrator” rights.   And confirmed that I are running the most current version of the Genuine Advantage control on the computer.  I chose the “Validate Office” option.  It did not resolve the issue.

I have run the Diagnostics Report and it passed all the checks.

I have restarted the machine and still have no genuine validation.

Please help, the results of my MGA Diagnostic tool report are below:

Your Office Standard 2007 and Office Access 2007 are showing as genuine installations of retail licensed software, so no issues there.

Note that your installation of Office Small Biz 2003 is reporting as "Unknown PID."  I am not sure what that means as I do not recall seeing that status before, but I think if you remove the installation of Office Small Biz 2003 using the Programs applet of Control Panel, then restart twice, your next visit to www.microsoft.com/genuine should clear up the validation problem.

Try that and post back to let us know if it worked for you.

  • Hello Dan at IT Associates,

I removed the installation of Office Small Biz 2003 (not sure where it came from) using the Programs applet of Control Panel, then restarted twice.  I ran the validation at
www.microsoft.com/genuine; validation problem solved.  I opened Word 2007 and the machine popped up a 2007 window saying that it had to reconfig Office, it took a second to think about it, and Word opened perfectly.  Ran the other Office programs through their paces and everything works flawlessly.  Thanks ever so much for your help!  YeeHaw!
