Validation process fail. RRS feed

  • After adding a new peice of hardware to my pc and changing a bios setting at boot, now when windows xp starts i get a msg saying i need to revalidate my windows xp copy within 3 days, i click validate now using internet, says checking connectivity then takes me screen that says your copy cannot be validated (even tho its online atm).. so i came here & dl`d the wga thing, installed it and ran other MGAdiag tool and got the report written below, ive tried going to http://www.microsoft.com/genuine and running  the validating process, installed the active X control and got nowhere.. can anyone shed some light on what might be the problem please as im almost out of ideas. A restore will last resort.

  • Please "activate" our copy of Windows XP. If you cannot successfully activate via the internet, then choose the alternative option to "activate by phone". 

    The Activation Wizard displays the toll free number that you can dial.

    You can open the Windows Product Activation wizard by clicking Start, then Run, and type in "oobe/msoobe /a", then press the Enter key located on your keyboard.
