Office 2007 validation issue after installing Sharepoint 2007 Designer RRS feed

  • After I installed SharePoint Designer 2007 my licensed copy of Office 2007 no longer passes the genuine validation process.

    The summary is:

    Validation Summary
    Products that passed genuine validation:
    Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007
    Products that did not pass genuine validatio
    Microsoft Office SharePoint Designer 2007

    SharePoint Designer has not yet had a license key applied as I am still evaulating it. The package was downloaded from Microsoft last week and I have used only 6 of the 25 evaluation sessions.

    I am trying to download the InfoPath 2007 Sample Training Lab sent out in the weekly Microsoft Download Notification mail.

     

    Any help appreciated.

  • I am using Sharepoint 2007 Designer downloaded from MSDNAA - a version that YOU distribute without a key. Now I'm being blocked as not Genuine because I do not have a key. How is that right?

         I understand the inconvenience you are currently experiencing and would like to provide you with some self-help options we have made available for our customers to address the issue you are currently experiencing.. Please follow the steps outlined below as it could either resolve your issue or, if need be, provide us with additional information to determine the cause of this issue.

    1. Ensure you log onto the computer experiencing the issue with “Administrator” rights.
    2. Next we would like to confirm that you are running the most current version of the Genuine Advantage control on your computer. In order to do this please follow the below link and choose the “Validate Office” option.

    If the above steps did not resolve your issue lets continue with the steps below.

         I would like to provide some of the self-help options we have made available for our customers to address these issues. If you could please follow the steps outlined below the diagnostics Web Site will attempt to resolve the validation errors you are experiencing with Office.

    Next follow the on-screen prompts to resolve the issue if any of the checks at the above site fail. You can do this by choosing the “Resolve Now” button if it appears.     You will be prompted to either “Run” or “Save” the tool. Choose to “Run” the tool and follow the on-screen prompts. You will receive an “Internet Explorer-Security Warning” dialog box for the “Windows Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool”, you must choose to “Run” this tool when prompted.

    Once you are presented with the Diagnostics tool choose “Continue” to run the diagnostic report. If the “RESOLVE” button is available after running the diagnostics, please click “RESOLVE” to allow the diagnostic tool to attempt a repair.

  • It would appear that SharePoint Designer 2007 was not installed with a product key. Please start SharePoint Designer 2007, and enter a product key when prompted.

  • I am not ready to license it as I am still using the 25 evaluatiuon runs the evaluation version downloaded from Microsoft gives. If I and up liking it I will apply a license to it. What has happened is that by installing this eval version my Office installation no longer passes Genuine Office validation and therefore will not allow me to download the InfoPath 2007 Sample: Training Labs (Step-by-step training and downloadable samples illustrating Microsoft Office InfoPath 2007 features.) which was a link provided by our TAM. I was planning on using these templates to test Workflow in the SharePoint designer.

         I understand the inconvenience you are currently experiencing surrounding Office activation. In turn I would like to provide the following steps to try and resolve the issue. Please follow the steps to attempt resolving this issue.  
    1) Open My Computer located on your desktop
    2) Go to: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Office\Data\
    3) Right click the data.dat file, then click “Delete.
    4) This data.dat file is for Office (not OGA)
    5) Once the file has been deleted, open an Office application such as MS Word and “ACTIVATE” it.
    6)  If product activation was successful try the Office Genuine Advantage (OGA). Please launch the following link and begin the OGA process again: (this is the OGA part; Office Genuine Advantage):  http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/office/Validate.aspx?displaylang=eng
