    We have a client who required that all project files and documents be held in a Shared One Drive folder.  This was the first time we have done so but is seemed to worked out well.  

    We ran into an issue and place a stop work order on the clients project due to non payment.  The client then removed our access to the One Drive and we lost all our documents from Signed Contract to Project Cost Spreadsheet.

    We are going to mediation with this client and he has been ordered to return the folder.  To date the client has not returned the contract and only a selection of the folders.

    My question is:  How do I tell if the files have been Modified.  Each of the documents returned have a "Date Modified" of being after they were taken.

    If you don't have something to compare with then you probably can't. The OneDrive forums are here though it may not have much to do with the question of file modifications.
