Hi, well I purchased a notebook computer from CisnetPC; with most computers recently a physical recovery CD/DVD was not present. But a recovery program that allowed the creation of recovery disks failed on every attempt. Shortly after my failed attempts, the operating system crashed due to an NTLDR problem.
This was a sign to me that a clean reinstallation was needed, since I didn't have a media disk...i opted to use a disk from a gateway machine also running MCE2005.
I completed the install, now I have a problem; I can not pass activation.
I called the company for technical support, they refuse to provide software support...stating their warranty terms only includes hardware.
The only other option I have is to purchase a OEM cd from them.
Why should I have to pay for an operating system twice!? I can clearly see my CoA affixed to the back of my notebook.
I refuse to give them more of my money. But how can I go along to use my legit CoA?
my CoA shows the following:
