Copy of office 2007 Pro marked as not genuine RRS feed

  • Question

  • I had Enterprise 2007 which I found out after 2 + years not to be genuine / marked as not genuine on my computor since it was for the exclusive use of a company. No problem with that, I found out which company it was and it was correct.

I however since bought an office professional 2007. The this "this copy of office is not genuine" stays even though it validates and all updates has been done.

    Validation Successful!

Thank you for using genuine Office and participating in the Office Genuine Advantage program. You may now enjoy all the benefits reserved for genuine Office users. Genuine Microsoft Office® provides unique value, ongoing updates, and enhancements from Microsoft that counterfeit versions of Office do not. With genuine Office, you’ll spend less time keeping your software current and more time generating professional-looking documents for home or school.

When you buy genuine Office, you:

    • Know that you are getting the most secure version of Office available.
    • Get support from Microsoft or Microsoft trusted partners.
    • Increase your productivity with free downloads, training, and other resources.

Validation does not guarantee that the copy of Office installed on this computer is properly licensed.

But when using the OGA diagnostic tool I get this (took out all the other info; should you need it I will paste it):

(This is the replacement copy doing the same ... yup I requested a replacement with the same results)

    Diagnostic Report (1.9.0006.1):

    OGA Data-->
    Office Status: 108 Invalid VLK
Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007 - 108 Invalid VLK
    OGA Version: Registered,
    Signed By: N/A, hr = 0x80096010

The part number of my current copy (the replacement office 2007 professional) is X12-51266-01

I run Vista Business, with my other pc on windows xp Professional ... both gives the same results! Enterpise was marked as not genuine on both.

My next step was to re-install my old genuine Offixe XP Professional on the same 2 PC after deinstalling for the umpteeth time ... same result. "This copy of Office is not a genuine copy" which is impossible.

Has it maybe anything to do with the fact that Enterprise 2007 was marked as not genuine? That it did not remove all the clutter or information regardless and now it keeps on popping up?

    Now what?

  • Visman,

Please uninstall any remnants of both the Office 2007 Enterprise and the Office 2007 Professional Plus that were identified as nongenuine installations, then restart the computer.

Next, install your copy of Office XP, and restart.

Next, rerun the mgadiag utility and look at the OGA section.  If it reports that Office XP is not activated, please follow the post that I pasted in below:

Your mgadiag report is showing that your installation of Office XP Standard is not activated.

Lately, we have noticed a lot of folks posting with similar situations, that their longtime installations of Office XP have suddenly become "nongenuine" due to becoming not activated.

I have copied from a Stephen Holm post to another foum user who had similar symptoms.  Please follow the instructions and then post back to let us know how you did:
