There’s a recent report of this problem being corrected with a reinstallation: http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=3902759&SiteID=2
If JimR1’s suggestion doesn’t work, you might want to try this before contacting support. If you decide to try the reinstallion, use this cleanup tool after you uninstall: http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=828910&SiteID=2

How is the drive connected to the PC? What is the capacity and file system of the drive?Tuesday, September 16, 2008 3:45 PMModerator

Thanks so much for your message! It is an external Hardrive "Lacie" and it was connected through a USB cable to the back of my computer. It has a 250GB capacity. I have stored other things on it already, so I know it has the same file system as my computer. It comes with its own software, which is installed, but that software is SO basic and simple that I cannot imagine it creating a conflict. Thank you so much for your help!

Hello BroNate, if you can get to it try turning backup off, restart your computer then try to configure backup. I'm not sure that this will help so if the issue persists I suggest contacting support.
