Server-Side Synchronization and Email Tracking RRS feed

  • Question

  • We're running CRM 2013, Update Rollup 2 (6.0.2.51) and need to use Server-Side Synchronization.  We're currently experiencing an issue where no emails are automatically tracked, specifically emails in reply to previously tracked CRM-related emails.

    • i.e., CRMUser1 sends an email to JoeContact, a contact within CRM.  CRMUser1 tracks and regards properly and the email goes out.  After some time, the email appears in CRM and attached to JoeContact as it rightfully should.  The problem comes in when JoeContact replies to the email.  The email record is created in CRM, but the email in Outlook does not have the record it's tied to set in the regarding field.

Is there a way to configure this (through a setting or external process) to track any CRM-related emails so it's shown properly within Outlook (tracked and regarded)?

Also, while we're on the subject, is there a way to change the time it takes for objects to sync between Outlook and CRM?  Right now some objects are taking upwards of 20-25 minutes.
