Possible bug: news feed doesn't show activity that I know has occurred RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hi,
Yesterday I posted a blog entry using Windows Live Writer hence the published blog entry appears on my hard drive as C:\Users\jamie\Documents\My Weblog Posts\Recent Posts\MyBlogEntry.wpost

C:\Users\jamie\Documents\My Weblog Posts\ is a Live Mesh folder and the file just mentioned has indeed been synced to my Mesh because I can see it in the Live Desktop. HOWEVER, there is no mention of it in my newsfeed. Is this a bug?

  • Hi Jamie,

We have an open bug with Live Mesh news not refreshing as it should.  You might be seeing that.  If you log into Connect, go to Feedback, and do an Advanced Search for Feedback ID 341764, is this the issue you're seeing?

    Thanks,

    Ben.

  • Iv found that any entry that had been put in the "Earlier" section of the News feed is sorted by time only and the date of the event is completely ignored.  I noticed this when i thought that a note i left in one folder was listed above a change that i had made two or three days later.  This happens in both the individual folders news feed and the Notifier.

    Hi Ben,
It could be, yeah. Although its hard to tell, that's not the most informative connect submission I've ever seen.

I'ev added a comment explaining the problem that I am seeing. See it here: https://connect.microsoft.com/feedback/ViewFeedback.aspx?FeedbackID=341764&SiteID=425

  • Thank you for the follow up, Jamie.

The team is currently pushing pretty hard on some bugs with Live Mesh news, and the extra information is extremely helpful.

    Ben.
