How to activating a genuine version of Windows XP Pro SP2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a problem with activating a genuine version of Windows XP Pro SP2 with Microsoft.

When I start up the computer, I get the error message (translated) "This copy of Windows must be activated with Microsoft before you can log on. Do you want to activate Windows now? Yes / No"

If I press "No", I am going back to the login menu, I press "Yes" to the log in but then you will see only their own personal desktop picture on the screen. No icons or anything else just a clean image.

It does not work to get in Safe mode with networking either.

    What to do?

  • I am having exactly the same problem except I can run in the safe mode. In my case a second window opens if I say yes I want to activate but it says I am activated and restarts the computer and I go through the same cycle again.
