I think something is wrong with the Genuine Advantage Validation process RRS feed

  • Question

  • I ran the validation tool, and received that ugly error icon regarding my copy of Windows XP Pro.  Although I am very sure that my copy is good, my child peeled off the sticker so I can not check that I used the correct disc when I re-installed (HD failure/replaced HD) So I figured I needed to purchase a new copy.  I ordered it, spending money I didn't want to spend!

However,  when I ran the diagnostic, I saw that my Windows is good, but my Office is not.  But I'm having no problems with my office - no 'reminder's', etc.

Sorta makes me wonder how many people have purchased new copies of software unneccesarily....
