How is the schema created on the client? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm using sync services in an N-Tier architecture.

Assuming the client has no local DB and TableCreationOption to CreateNewOrFail.

Does it get the schema from SelectIncrementInsert???

  • When running the SQL Profiler I do notice the incrementalInsert being called. So I'm pretty sure it's getting the schema from there.

  • Hi -

We send the schema of the tables and columns explicitly as "CREATE" statements to generate the schema.

    Thanks

  • Let's say I have in My selectIncrementalInsertCommand only SELECT id, name FROM Customers Where etc.

On the server side, there is more than the id,name as column.

How does it know only to send CREATE TABLE Customers (id, name) ....?

It looks at the SelectIncrementalInsertCommand ??? Or its doing something else?
