Can't access user management after install

Question

Hi,
Im in the process of redeploying our CRM to new infrustructure. Trying to get a vanilla CRM v3.0 professional working within our new 2 tier environment has being quite hard. There are alot of security controls in place like any good production environment.
I have got CRM installed across a Win Serv 2003 web server and Win Server 2003 64 /SQL 64 bit server and it seems that CRM installed correctly and has setup the database and permissions to go along with it.
I can see the CRM groups within a seperate UO in AD, however I can't see much in the groups and I think this is what is causing my problem. After installing CRM I cannot access / view any users under the MS CRM Deployment Manager -> User Manager -> Blah.
If I click refresh I get an error : The server is not responding: This might happen if its current unavailable, it is not a MS CRM server or you do not have sufficient priv to run User Manager.. Contact your sys admin.
Now - the account I installed CRM was not a domain admin but it does have enough access to create and modify those groups in the specified UO.
I have tried adding my acccount to the relavent UserGroups and PrivUserGroups to no availe.
Does anyone know how I can get my accont to have enough privileges to get into CRM and start configuring users and groups?
Am I on the right path that its a permission thing?
From what I can see IIS and the website are working fine, the AppPool is running ok and can communicate with the SQL server.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

You stated that the account used to install CRM was not a domain admin account. I believe you need to install CRM with a domain admin account.

On your OU make sure your service account with which you install CRM with have create, delete permissions on groups.
Re-run the repair on CRM from add remove programs in your control panel.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply, tried and still the same problem.
The account which is running the services at the moment is the same as the account which is installing and manipulating AD.Tuesday, May 12, 2009 5:21 AM -
