  • Windows Live OneCare does not block sites. It would block programs or request if you want to allow a program access to the Internet.

However, it seems that you have bigger problems if you are unable to change settings in OneCare and on the PC due to the loss of your administrator password.

Purchasing a domain will *not* fix your problems. What will fix the problem is a complete reinstall of Windows back to factory defaults, using the procedure offered by your computer manufacturer.

I recommend starting with OneCare support and then perhaps contacting support for your computer manufacturer. Before reinstalling Windows or resetting everything to factory default, make sure that you have backed up any important data as it will likely be lost.

Could it be the changing of security settings in Internet Explorer that OneCare is doing? I think so. Add the wanted sites in the section "trusted sites" of IE.

That could be a factor, but of a larger concern is the loss of administrative rights on the PC, which means changing many settings will be unavailable to the user.
