Upgrading Dynamics CRM 2011 product key from trial to retail

Question
-
Hello,
Hopefully this is a straightforward question:
I am looking to develop a proof of concept with the Dynamics CRM 2011 that can be downloaded form http://www.microsoft.com/downloads
It is a quite straightforward installation. Mostly out-of-the-box features with a couple of custom fields added in one or two entities.
What I am wondering is how would I be able to upgrade this system to a production environment using our own product key, once we get it:
- In-place upgrade?
- Changing the key in the registry somehow?
- Exporting/importing the customisation?
- A new install pointing which I point to my current database?
- Something else that escapes my mind?
Thanks in advance for the help!

If it is built on RTM, the trial keys are upgradeable.
If it is an earlier version it won't be as easy. I am not sure what that would look like.
Are you using RTM?

The Trial Keys are convertible - allow upgrade to production keys.

Jamie,
Thanks for the note!
Well I just downloaded the latest copy from Microsoft's download site. I did a research and SoftPedia (don't know how reliable they are) claim it is the RTM version. Here are the details:
Version: 05.00.9688.583
Date Published: 2/16/2011
If this is the RTM, then how would I be able to upgrade the trial key?
Thanks for the info!
Regards,

Thanks Frank!
Any insights on how the trial keys are convertible? Could I do this straight from the software?
Cheers,
P.

We have a campus agreement and can download CRM 2011 rtm from MVLS with an embedded license key. They don't provide license keys since it is already in the product media. Our 90 day rtm trial expires next week and I've just spent 3 hours on the phone with 4 different Microsoft departments to get a key and have asked our licensing reseller - no luck so far.
Any ideas on who can actually fix this?
Thanks

Hope this helps somebody else: spoke to Microsoft support and they very helpfully sent me here:
http://crmdynamics.blob.core.windows.net/docs/Pricing_Licensing_Guide.pdf - Licensing & Pricing Guide MS CRM 2011 (pages 26, 27, 28)
LICENSE KEYS
Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 media obtained under Volume Licensing programs include license keys embedded on the media (Media is „Pre-Keyed*‟). The license keys will no longer need to be entered upon installation. If you have downloaded a Trial or time limited version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM, and later purchase Volume License media and do not wish to re-install, you may input the license key from your purchased media within the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Deployment Manager.
The License Key may be located by searching the installation files contained on the media for the \server\amd64\license.txt file.
