How to reset OCS2K7 Address Book Server Virtual Directory RRS feed

    Hi;

     

    I would like to know is there any KB article to rebuild the OCS2K7 Address Book Server Virtual Directory in Front End consolidated Server.

     

    In addition, is there any OCS2K7 Virtual Directory Hierarchy documentation as well default permission and configuration.

    Unfortunately I haven't found anything like that.  There is some LCS-specific documentation on the ABS that goes into a little more detail, although some of it is slightly different in OCS:

    I've been meaning to try 'resetting' the AB files in my lab; it may be possible to simply wipe all of the files and rerun a the -RegenUR and -SyncNow switches, but that might possibly break something.  I'll post back if I get a chance to test that.

    If you just want to rebuild the Web Components Role.  The easiest is to do the following

     

    DeActivate Web Conf

    DeActivate Web Components

    Uninstall IIS

    Uninstall Web Conf

    Uninstall Web Components

     

    Install IIS

    Launch OCS Installer - it will find the missing roles and walk you thu installing them.

     

    This is usually only needed if the Web Components or IIS Metabase becomes damaged or someone has trashed the permissions in IIS.
