Teaching an old dog new tricks: VFP developer trying to move to C# .Net RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have been working as a Visual FoxPro Developer/Systems Analyst for over 12 years.  As you can imagin, my skill set (and resume) is pretty antiquated.  I am looking to update my skill set and add new MS certification to my resume.

I have very little experience using Visual Studio 2010, however, my current employer is migrating all applications to this technology and I would like to take the opportunity to improve my skill set so that I do not become as obsolete as the code I have been working on over the last decade or so.  My objective is to become a C# developer using VS2010.

I would appreciate any suggestions on where to start.  There is so much here, and it can be more than a little daunting to know where to start.
