Hardware or software? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Has anyone else noticed a problem with the home server PC clock running slow?  The PC that I took and converted never had a problem with the clock staying on time but I have set the time on the box several times since I installed Homeserver.  Not sure whether to think its a hardware or software but since I didn't have any problems before I have to suspect something with the homeserver setup.  I set it to the current time and time zone but after about a week I noticed today it's a little over 2 hours slow.

  • Hi,

If the timezone or the local did not change, then it not WHS issue, more than your pc battery issue.

To always get the correct time, best to sync with internet time services (NTP - Network Time Protocol).

    My best.

  • I also had this issue and when checking the event logs, I noticed warnings about the time service synch failing. I had to open UDP port 123 in the Windows firewall on WHS in order to get it to start correctly synching.
