Unable to Restore RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hard drive failed on my Win7 64-bit client and I replaced it with a 2TB drive and will restore my WHS v1 backup.  No problem!  Done it several times in the past.  Well...  Problem.  I've tried both the OEM restore CD (download) and the x:\files v1.3 restore CD and they both end in the same result.  It finds the WHS, let's me pick a backup version to restore and starts the restore then comes back with

"Unable to refresh Restore Wizard from your server. Your server maybe an older version of Windows Home Server than this CD or your server may be damaged, we will attempt a restore with an older version"

If it attempts with the older version then it's unable to see my hard disk.  I assume that since it's finding the WHS that it's not a NIC drivers problem as many of the restore problems point to.  Is this a correct assuption?

Any ideas???  I'm losing faith and need this computer restored quick [it's my wifes!].

    Thanks!
