subscription lapsed RRS feed

  • Question

  •

I let my subscription lapse 1 day. (stupidly, was to tired to do it last night) Do I have to uninstalled it and purchase a new one, or is there a way to activate the old one?
It would not allow me to change my billing method and I thought it was due to when I bought it the subscription it was included. Thanks for your help.

  • Thanks Steve, it worked this time.  I had to click on "your services", and that let me renew it.  Hopefully everthing is working ok.

  • If you sign in at http://billing.microsoft.com with the LiveID for your subscription, you should be able to click the link to renew and provide payment information or a new Retail PIN, if you pick up a retail copy.

If you renew this way, it can take up to 24 hours for the renewal to be reflected in OneCare.

Alternatively, you can reinstall and activate again with a new LiveID. I believe that using the same LiveID will allow you to then provide payment information or a key since the current subscription is expired.

What do you mean by "change my billing method?"

  • You're welcome. I'm glad you were able to renew. If OneCare doesn't reflect the new status tomorrow, open OneCare and click "Check for Updates" to see if you can force the status to come down from the server.
