We would like to provide a fully resiliant voice service and would like to know what automatic failover options are availble for the mediation server - does any one know?Tuesday, August 4, 2009 2:07 PM

Microsoft does not support multiple Mediation servers in a failover cluster scenario. However, you can deploy 2 individual Mediation servers and configure your Enterprise Voice Policies and Routes to include both Mediation servers as available gateways for each Route. This is the Microsoft recommended method for providing High Availability for the Mediation role and will make your Routes redundant. To be completely redundant, you will also need two gateways and two trunks to the PSTN. Hope this answers your question.

The Mediation Server and Gateway relationship is 1 to 1
So you can't do failover on Mediation server to another gateway!
Therefore you need 2 Mediation Servers and 2 Gateways
