Unable to gain remote access over network

    Question

  • I'm trying to allow my business partner to access my SQLServer on Vista, but he has windows 7.  I've added him as a user and set up an account in SQL.  He is picking up the wireless network but is unable to gain access to me machine.  What am I doing wrong?

    Hello Tom,

Unfortunately this forum is dedicated to Windows Live Writer--not SQL
Server. Your best bet would be
which is the Technet forums for SQL Server.

That being said, one thing to make sure of is that your firewall is
allowing connections to the SQL Server. Unfortunately I don't know how
to go about that, which is why I recommend the Technet Forums.

    Have a great day:)
    Patrick.
