CRM and PDF's File

Question
-
Greetings!
In my company each time that a user creates a quote in CRM 4.0, the quote gets saved to the database (of course) and also it is created into a PDF file. I don't know if creating the PDF is true for every company. If it is, I would like to know if CRM uses a template to define the PDF structure.
Thanks!

There must be some custom code associated with creating the PDF file because this is not default behavior for CRM. My guess is that someone wrote an application to extend CRM and if you track down that code you will also find the file referenced for the PDF template.

Hi Eduardo,
in Standard there is a SQL Server Report for quotes but no automatic mechnism to create such report as pdf an save it to the database. It seems that there was a customization of your deployment. So you have to ask the responsible person for your CRM how this features was build.
Generally you create a SQL Server Report design with Visual Studio 2005/2008 and publish this report to CRM where you can save a report as PDF under the support of a custom developed .NET-based solution.

Jurgen,
Actually you are correct. Thank you very much for your detailed answer, it helped me a lot to find the source of the application that creates the PDF.
Again, thank you!!!
