Norton Live update RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I have a red Icon for OneCare and it wants me to uninstall Nortons Live Update. The reason it gives is that it is maintaining my computer. I didn't know that OneCare could check on undates for other programs like, PCAnywhere and Ghost Server.

I am a paying customer and would expect better from Microsoft.

  • Unfortunately, it appears that the OneCare installer sees Live update as a component of the Norton security suite and flags it as a conflicting service. Some people have reported that if they let OneCare remove it and then install the latest version of LiveUpdate from the Norton/Symantec site that OneCare is okay with this, though others have reported that OneCare still complains. We haven't had any new information from the OneCare team on this issue, but we've made them aware of it.
