Live mesh continually updating

Question
-
Installed Live Mesh on Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.
Unfortunately it never seems to stop uploading. Finishes the 400MB of data I have synchronized, then starts all over again whether or not changes have been made to the data.
This was raised in a post in january, but didn't seem to be resolved.
Any ideas?Thursday, December 10, 2009 9:32 PM

Just out of curiosity, are these files being accessed by some other application?
Seems like the symptom could be caused by an application tweaking the file and causing Mesh to think there have been changes before it finishes the transfer. In this case, I'd guess it might update the file again. Of course, if the file keeps getting tweaked (for example, if it's a settings file for email that is constantly updated) then that might set up a state where the file is ALWAYS being updated.

How do you know that it is starting over? What kind of data are you synchronizing? Is it synchronizing to the Live Desktop and other devices? How many devices?

I'm seeing this same behavour ? but not on all files.. Some files (tends to be smaller, less than 50mb) seem fine, but I have tested several other files of various types (.wmv, .exe, .rar) of various sizes ranging from 120mb to 400mb and it does exactly what Alan says..

I start from the point of everything being synced, I add a new file, I see the LiveMesh icon start to animate, I hover over it and click the PC icon, It will show the file being uploaded, and how many MB's through the upoad it is..
But it never actually completes the upload, it gets a certain way through the upload, (sometimes even to the end) then there is a pause of several mins, and then it will start the upoad of that same file again.
This behavious has been noted when just syncing to the LiveDesktop and when syncing to both LiveDesktop and other PC's.
I've also tried upload these files directly to the MeshDesktop via the web interface, thiinking it would then probably sync the file back to my local PC and I would end up with what I wanted, even if it was a rather long winded way, but I can't even upload these files this way either ?
Is there something I am doing wrong ??

I originally had both LiveMesh and LiveSync set up pointed at the same source folder, but the destination folders were different. LiveMesh had created and was syncing its folders in the user folders, and LiveSync destination was sync'ing to a seperate physical drive altogether.
Seems like the symptom could be caused by an application tweaking the file and causing Mesh to think there have been changes before it finishes the transfer. In this case, I'd guess it might update the file again. I also had wondered if this might be causing a conflict so I removed the source folder from LiveSync completely and retested. Same behaviour.
I am not aware of these files being updated and hence triggereing them to be reuploaded. 1 of the files is nothing fancy, its just a .wmv movie.
How many times is LiveMesh supposed to upload a file, I mean I assume that its just the once ?Wednesday, January 6, 2010 7:08 PM -
Most certainly Live Mesh and Live Sync shouldn't pointed to the same folder (or any other sync software that monitors changes to a folder or file for sync purposes...) as you can have some big issues, including data loss.
The oddity is that you see this when a folder is only synchronized between 1 device and the Live Desktop. I would expect this to happen with multiple devices - the file uploads to the Live Desktop from the source, then copies that same file via P2P to other devices if they are online and available.
When you believe that the file has comleted the upload and then pauses for a bit, have you confirmed that the file is indeed available on the Live Desktop (and/or other devices) at that point already?
