ActiveX blocked by IE7 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I was trying to download updates for antivirus which required activex downloads. The IE is blocking the ActiveX objects. When I ran the Genuine software, all my parameters passed.

    Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Results

    Passed Active scripting allowed
    Passed Display images enabled
Passed Computer time and date correct
    Passed ActiveX enabled
    Passed Windows validation ActiveX loaded
    Passed Office validation ActiveX loaded
    Passed Validation Self-help ActiveX loaded
Passed Validation Self-help: Data.dat Corruption check
    Passed Validation Self-help: Cryptography check

    Validation Self-help: Product Activation check

I went into internet options- security - customs settings

and enabled everything for activex section and also for the downloads section. But still I am not able to update my antivirus and the message comes that the activex has to be enable. Please advise.

  • I would advise you to download and reinstall active X as your active X has been corrupted either by a game or process that has made it inoperable even though you may run diagnostics, it is something I've run into previously and MS has gone to some lengths to make sure people don't have a choice in order to get their updates.  Welcome to Microsoft's do it or else Windows OS.
