Live Mesh and Groove RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I use Groove on a dialy basis at work. Groove took care of all of my file sharing needs except for Groove 2007 on my Vista Ultimate 64 machine. Groove does not support filesharing on 64 bit processors for some wierd, strange reason.

To solve the problem and get files shared with my b4 bit machine, I installed live mesh and "meshed" my Groove filesharing workspaces so I now have access across all platforms and machines.

  • Hey MitigationElf,

Very cool - I like it. I can see all sorts of places where Mesh can be applied like this and basically automate tedious / annoying tasks or compatibility gaps...

I do a similar thing with my OneNote files - I sync the OneNote Notebooks on my work lap-top with my mesh, and then connect to it on my home PC - then set the notebook location of my home PC to the sync'd folder and voila, a ubiquitous notebook that I don't have to carry around!
It's quite useful - if I come across something when I'm at home that might help with some task at work, just OneNote it and pick it up when I'm "on the clock" in the morning :)
It's also fantastic if you take your lap-top or ultra-portable to meetings or lectures.....

    If not now, when?
