Activation Problem RRS feed

  • Question

  • Yesterday, I removed my expiring One Care Window software. After doing so, I renew my subscription which I purchased from Best Buy. The renewal went relatively smooth. However, the next day, I have an error message saying my scription is going to expire the next day. What do I need to do to solve this? Is this a common problem?

Its not actually a problem. When you bought a new disc, you still need to activate the product key that came along with it. Renew through onecare the program itself, follow the prompts, select to renew using a token.

Alternatively you can log-in to https://billing.microsoft.com using your Live ID, at the bottom you will see the status of your subscription. Click on that, select to renew using your new token, or prepaid pin.

  • If you already renewed at http://billing.microsoft.com with the new retail key, it will take 24 hours or so to update the status in OneCare.
