CRM 2015 Quote form. Need to set default Ship To to 'Will Call' RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi folks

I don't seem to be able to stop the Quote form from defaulting Ship To to 'Address' and so exposing the Ship To Address field.

I changed the default for the field to Will Call - no difference

I created a Business Rule that says if the Status Reason equals any of the options available, In Progress, etc - no difference

I added jscript On-load to set the value of the field to 1 - no difference

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks

    David

  • Hi David,

Further to this I have checked with a CRM 2015 online deployment and can confirm the above simple customization change worked like a charm. It might be something to do with the customization's you have or some other code in the background. Even worth restarting the CRM app server and check.

  • Hi David,

You should be able to do this from the customizations area. I set "Will call" option and didn't have any issues. Make sure you publish the changes.

  • Hi Eranger

When you say you set "Will Call" exactly what did you do?

I tried various methods (as above) without success.

    Thanks

  • Hi David,

Go to Start> Settings >Customization > Customize the system.

    Expand Entities

    Expand Quote

    Go to "Fields"

Double click "Will Call" ( Name is will call. Display name is Ship to)

Change the default value to "Will Call"

    Save and close the form.

Make sure you publish the changes.

  • Hi Eranger

Thank you for this but unfortunately that was the first thing I did without success.

I have made other modifications to quote form in my solution so I have just now tested this on the default form in a new organisation again without success.

    Very odd!

I’m working on premise.  Are you by any chance working on-line?

    Thanks again for your assistance

  • hmm... I am working on a CRM 2015 on premise Vanilla Install. I can check with couple of other deployments and give feedback. It looks like a problem with your end for the time being. Make sure the changes are publishing successfully without errors. Check event viewer on the CRM App server for any possible errors.

  • Hi Eranger

Whatever it is it must be something underlying the whole CRM install as I tried what you suggested on a vanilla organisation.

Thank you for all your input on this
