More Info on the Server Storage Tab RRS feed

  • Question

  • I would like to see a little more info on this tab like

-%full or nnGB of nnGB used

-Date and Time the disk was added

If you need to remove a drive, either to replace for a larger one or because they are getting old, it would be nice to see which one is fuller or older.

Also, if you have an old drive (>2 years), I would like to be able to remove it, completely scan it, then re-add it if it was good. Actually, perhaps this could be added as a function to inspect a hard drive for errors.

    Thanks

  • I don't see the use of % full. WHS manages all the drives in the storage pool for you, so it shouldn't matter how full any single disk is. And really, I would expect that all disks in the pool would be about equally full. Except the primary data partition, if you have at least three disks. That partition gets reserved for tombstones in that scenario, so it will usually be fairly empty.

I think a "Date added" would be useful, though. You should submit a suggestion on Connect.
