workflows in Crm 2011 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I have a problem connected with workflows. I want to do following: when Lead qualified (if Lead:Status Reason equals [Qualified]) , then workflow will create Case . When I put Title = {Topic(Lead)} , Customer ={Customer(Lead)} In the Set Properties ,it doesn't work ; but when I instead {Customer(Lead)} put some Account from the Default Value ,it works .  I want to create case based on the appropriate lead , but can't populate lead's Company Name into case's Customer field.

    Thanks!

  • Hi,

The lookup field Customer in Lead entity will not populate automatically when you Qualify Lead into the contact or Customer, on Qualifying the lead the system will place automatically the Lead lookup value into the Account entity form Orignating Lead field , you may need to develop a custom workflow acitivity that will take Lead as an input paramter, then retrieve the Account that has same Orignating Lead  and return the Account as Customer type field then you can set it in the workflow Case Customer field.

  • Buddy, There is no customer field in leads. The company field in lead is text field.

The customer field in case is lookup field. it can be a contact or account not a text field. Thats why its not working.

What you are trying to do, I would do that by creating a workflow on account creation.

On account creation check if the account orginating lead field has value if yes create a case and you can set the value from account and the originating lead.

    I hope this helps.
