  • Question

  • I am sorry if this is really newbish question but....

I am just setting up OCS2007 with Com2007 (completely new to OCS).  Everything seems to be working fine but when I log into Communicator 2007 and add a contact it comes up as Prescence unknown for that user.

When I try to send a text message I get

This message was not delivered to <user>  due to an error: More details (ID:1003)

I am sure I am just missing something stupid.  Any help and explaination would be very much appreciated.

    Thank You

  • Hello,

if a user is SIP enabled and existing then the presence should be unknown. I did a quick test and if you add a user that either does not exist or is not SIP enabled the Presence status is unknown. If you try to send a message you receive :

This message was not delivered to <user>  due to an error: More details (ID:1003)

So the next step is to verify if the user you are trying to add either exists or is SIP enabled.

  • Hi ,

I must correct my first statement.

If a user is SIP enabled and existing then the presence should be Offline until the other party accepts to add you in the contact list.

  • Thanks,  it is working now.  Either I had the email address wrong or the AD had not synced yet to the other servers.

    Thanks again for you help.
