I had a free upgrade for windows 8.1 and thought i would try it. although it was great, i prefer windows 7 on my laptop. I restored back to windows 7 and apparently had some sort of virus (or still have) which will not allow me to discover networks. i have
network discovery on, (this happened before, and before there wasnt an option to turn on the wireless adapter) but this time it can't seem to find any, even though it has the ethernet plugged in. I thought i would be tricky and use a USB to grab the network
stuff from my older desktop and transfer it over, maybe it can recognize it or change something, but it wont discover any devices either. i tested with multiple things such as 2 different external monitors, 4 different usb's, and a few otheres and nothing
is showing up. i gave it time to download the usb and it never did anything.
what i do know is that it can read CD's which is always a good sign, and that i still have my old windows.old files from 8.1.
could i possibly grab the drivers and adapters and such from the windows 8.1 files to help restore this? any suggestions?
also, the forum posting thing is confusing and i have no idea where to post this...
