Deployment Adminisrators RRS feed

  • Question

When I try to run the deployment manager, I get an error:

Only the administrators are able to use deployment manager. you are not a deployment administrator.

    Can anyone help here?

    See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/946686/enus

This describes the minimum CRM security permissions necessary to be a deployment administrator.

  • I have the same issue - but the installer is on vacation and no one else is setup as a Deployment Administrator. According to the MS link, only the original installer or a Deployment Administrator can grant someone else permission to be a Deployment Administrator.

Anyone know a way around this problem?

The only way around it is to be a domain admin and change the NT password in Active Directory for the user who is the deployment administrator, log into windows on the server as this user.  Then open deployment manager, check they do have the rights to open it.  Then make another user a deployment administrator.
