  • You can import csv data files through the CRM UI or you can use a third party tool such as Scribe or Kingswaysoft.

  • I will suggest you SSIS toolkit, it's a very good choice for performance and it offers new SDK functionality as well compared to other tools

  • How much data you want to load and how much customization you've? You can try following:

    • CSV
    • SSIS Package and use tools like cozyroc
    • Tools like scribe
    • Custom code with multiple threads and bulk insert.

  • It depends on your requirement. You can go for CSV files or any integration practice with SSIS or any scribe (if you have only) etc  or you can write one console application to import data from other applications or db or external files.
