There is no credit. If you install the 90 day free trial, you can use it for that entire time before activating a subscription. OneCare will nag you that it is a trial and suggest that you subscribe, but it remains fully functional.
Once you activate a subscription, the trial period ends and your 12 month subscription begins.
If you paid by credit card, you can contact support to cancel the subscription, but reinstalling OneCare will then only give you 15 days before you will need to subscribe - unless you format the PC - since the trial software was already installed, if even for only a day or so before you subscribed.

I'm still trying to figure out where to activate and buy a subscription since the software keeps redirecting me to the website http://get.live.com
Here are the steps:
1. Click "Subscribe" in the monthly report
2. In Step 1, enter my Windows Live ID and password, click "Sign in"
3. In Step 2, click "Continue online"
Here I land on Get Live (http://get.live.com/onecare/client?wa=wsignin1.0)
Connect and share anywhere !?
Click Get Windows Live to get all these free Windows Live services !?
I just need to buy a subscription. Pay with my credit card. Nothing free.Regards,
Erik

TANKS YOU OVERING ME FREE 90 DAY TRIAL

Hi
Me too. I thought I was downloading the 90 day free trial software but somewhere along the way I got mugged into an instant subscription. I just hope the software has a little more integrity than their business practices.
