Using templates in Microsoft Word RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have noticed that our SteadyState settings have made it difficult to use the document templates in Word. If someone tries to create a document with a template they get the following message:
Document contains macros. Macro language support for this application is disabled. Features requiring VBA are not available. Would you like to open this document read-only?

Most templates seem to be OK if they open them read-only but the restriction completely disables the resume wizard.

I know I can enable the templates by removing the Feature Restriction for for Microsoft Office "Prevent use of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) in Office but I am not sure what the ramifications would be. It would help if I knew what risks I was taking by removing the restriction or how to explain to our staff and users that it is too dangerous to let someone use the Resume Wizard.
