KB949810 not installing RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have been having a problem with KB949810 not installing for almost a month now. All previous updates have gone through with no problems. I am now getting concerned that this may hamper future updates. How do we get your product to handle this properly?

  • Had the same problem...it's very annoying but after trawling Google and finding many complicated "work arounds" i discovered this (literally 5 minutes ago !!!). Basically the update requires Windows Task Scheduler to be enabled ( i had set mine to manual ). So i enabled task scheduler, restarted my comp (without installing already downloaded update). Then clicked annoying yellow notification shield and let it try to install (which it did !!!). Job done....hope it works for you to !

PS. I use a performance optimizer program (winshampoo) to tune start up processes /services etc.... and it's possible to "optimize all " hence task scheduler in my case was at "manual start" not the required "enabled" as kb949810 needs.
Look in control panel --- services to check your Task manager status.

    Cheers !
