Tracking Historical Emails in CRM RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello again! Last week I posted a question on tracking emails in CRM, and my question was answered so I was able to solve the problem. However, I still have a small issue regarding this situation. I've noticed when I select an email in my Outlook sent box and hit "Track in CRM" and "Set Regarding" it only tracks that email and any others moving forward, but not any emails sent before the one I selected to track. I would like to know if there's a way to simply select any email to track in CRM and for the system to automatically track any emails linked to that one regardless of whether they were sent before or after the selected one. This due to the fact that I have hundreds if not thousands of emails sent and it'd be a pain to have to search for all my past emails one by one. Thanks in advance!

  • There is no 'out-of-box' automated way for CRM to retroactively scour Exchange for related e-mails.  There may be a way for your Exchange Administrator to help with the identification of the e-mails so that you don't have to search for them.  However, you will still need to manually use the Track in CRM feature.

  • Theoretical it is possible because in Outlook you may group by threads by macro for example:

and you will need to call track in crm section based on the thread.
I saw similar resolution for different type of system which was integrated with outlook. It was working only sometimes.

Practically it will be hard to do this. will be unsupported.
