Connect XBox 360 Elite using phone as modem RRS feed

  • Question

  • It would be a good idea to be able to hook up an XBox to my mobile phone so I can sign onto XBox Live no matter where I play.  I tried to load mobile device settings onto it, but couldn't find a way to.  Any Ideas how to do that?

  • Microsoft is loosing out by not making windows mobile and the xbox 360 interoperable. This would of been a great boon and trump card for them compared to the competition (marketing), as no other console maker offers these features:
    1) Sync your console and mobile: play music/movies from your windows mobile powered phones through your xbox 360 system or vice-versa

    2) Be able to connect to Xbox Live with your mobile phone via 3G/Wifi (even though this might slow the sale of the xbox 360's wifi dongle--the money lost over the dongle will be made back +much more by the selling of more xbox 360 and windows mobile  devices because of these features---those with windows mobile devices that has 3G/wifi don't have to buy the dongle---this would influence current xbox 360 owners to buy windows mobile devices/influence current windows mobile users to buy xbox 360/influence others to buy both and pull them away from the competition.)

    3) Sync windows mobile with xbox wirelessly if the xbox 360 already has a wifi dongle.

All these are excellent features to implement and they are also great marketing tools to boost the sale of the xbox360 and windows mobile.

Microsoft, make all your devices interoperable with each other, if anything, that should be THE feature that is core among your devices. In essence when someone mentions a Microsoft device the next thing that comes to mind is "it works";  you can be more elaborate and with features and have people saying "I can walk into my house/yard, turn on my wifi enabled windows mobile phone and it auto detects/connects to my xbox 360's wifi in my room/house and I have instant access to my media and messages from my phone".
