After first sync, any update to primary key column value is not downloaded to client DB. RRS feed

  • Hello,

I'm using MS Sync Framework 2.1 for synchronization between server and client.

    In below scenario:

A row is created in a table (as user performs some row addition operation through our app), with value in the cell corresponding to primary key column as 'X'. User syncs this server to his client DB (SQL CE Compact 3.5 DB). Then, due to some operation\update, the value 'X' of this cell is updated to 'Y'. Again, user syncs this server to his client DB to download updated value. But, the value still remains as 'X' in client DB instead of getting updated to 'Y'.

What's going wrong? Why the value is not updated in client DB?

Is this due to the fact that when a row is created, its primary key column's value is used for creating '*_tracking' table. So any update to this value thereafter, is not downloaded and reflected in client DB?Is this the default behavior of MS Sync framework 2.1?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Regards,

    Abhilash
