Running a Job on a Single Node within a Nodegroup RRS feed

  • Question

  • I want to run a job once on any one of the 30 nodes that are available within a particular nodegroup.

I do not want to run this job 30 times which is what would happen if I send the job to the nodegroup and I can not send the job to one specific node as it  may not be available at the time that I want to run the job.

    Any ideas appreciated

    Thanks

  • Hi Cossy,

If a job with a task is submited to a node group, the task in the job would run only once on one of the available nodes in the node group. e.g.

    job submit /nodegroup:GroupName ping localhost

    Best,
