Does Crm 2011 Outlook Client support CRM Online with Federated Authentication (ADFS)? RRS feed

  • Question

  • We've just singed up for a trial with crm.dynamics.com, all users are setup using the https://portal.microsoftonline.com/ which means it's using Federated authentication. For the CRM online I think this authentication impliention is fairly new.

I can login though the browser all OK.

I've installed the CRM 2011 Outlook client and applied Rollup 10, when I try and authenticate form the Outllok Addin to CRM Online using the Test Connection and specifying the Federated credentials we get
"Cannot connect to Microsoft Dynamics CRM server because we cannot authneite your credetnials. Check your connection or contact your administrator for more help."
When I look at Fidder2 I can see that the Outlook client is only trying to authenticate my credentials with login.live.com.

FYI: The Windows Live ID service is running, althoguh I can'y see why this is need for Federated authentication to save someone suggesting it as a solution.

So my question is, does the CRM 2011 Outlook client support federated authentication to CRM online? and If so what's the trick on getting it working?

    Please help?
