Change Project ID

  I am trying to change a project ID in Project management and accounting all projects.

  The current project ID was set up incorrectly, usually we right click- record info- rename and change it in there.  however we keep getting this error....   "Cannot edit a record in Project activity (AXTvp_WrkCtrProjTableActivity). Project ID: PJ999999.
  The record already exists."

  This is a new company that we have set up and is not Live yet.  We do not have this problem in any other company or any of our test environments.  It could be something as simple as a tick box somewhere but I'm really not sure

  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
