Talking about becoming a programmer, it's just a matter of studying and experimenting: personally, I suggest you to choose a programming language (I suggest you to start from C/C++ and then move to another one, like the languages based on the .NET Framework
platform), study it in depth and try to write some programs to implement some useful solution to some problem or to develop some programs that you can use in your daily life. You will gain experience by practice, but remember: it is not a short path and you'll
always have to improve your skills.
Operating system's knowledge is also useful to become a powerful developer.
