Remote Desktop - PC restart

Question
-
Been using Mesh for a while now and everything is fine until I update my PC to Windows 7 RC although I think this is a problem for all OS versions.
When I'm at work and remote desktop to my PC at home everthing is fine. Work on a few things that then require a restart. Fine PC restarts I can "see" the device but as now my OS requires an password to load up the desktop which would then start mesh I can not remote in.
Is there a way to start this mesh service as a service ??

Is there any future work going to take place so I can add proxy details and authentication detials? It upsets our tech team me requesting a none authenticating ip address.Thursday, August 20, 2009 10:59 AM

Live Mesh does start as a service. When you reboot the PC and it starts up, even if nobody is logged in, you should be able to remote into the machine and log in. If that isn't happening for you, please file a bug report with logs:

Stephen, I don't think that your answer was correct. If your machine was setup to display the accounts for log-in, then not even the a network connection is made. The process (Live Mesh) could be private to one or two users.

This behavior is normal.
If you want it to log-in automaticaly, you should do the following:
Click Start, Run and enter CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2 Uncheck Users must enter a username and password....... Click Apply. Enter the desired user name to log on to and the password for that account, if any.
This will make XP to start with "desired user name".

Hi, akja.
I am able to reboot my computers and they come up to the Windows Login page. I am able to remote desktop to the PCs via Live Mesh remote desktop when they are in this state.

Mesh has a couple of programs that run. Some run under the user account and some run under the system account. You can set Mesh to run when the system starts. I believe this is the default. I remote into my Home computer and my parents computer all the time to do updates remotely. In the process, I reboot the system quite often, it kicks me out, I wait a few minutes, then try again and get a login screen. This happens with no user interaction on the remote end by my wife or parents depending on the system I am working on.
If it is not working for you, you may need to just wait a little longer, or make verify your settings to make sure the service is running at boot.
FYI, At home, Mesh is running on Vista Ultimate, and at my parents, on XP SP3. The laptop I am remoteing from is dual Vista Home Premium.
