  • Question

  • I'm going to (hopefully) take the Access 2010 certification test when it becomes available in February. Does anyone know if you have access to a copy of the application during the exam (so that you can navigate around in Access)? Or are questions asked in text format and you need to remember how to navigate without Access sitting in front of you (and therefore totally from memory)?

    Thanks!

  • Hi,

This exam is a hands on exam. This means that when the exam starts you will be presented with Access in front of you and the questions appear on the bottom side of the screen. It's up to you to manage the task you are asked to perform. So for instance you could get a question such as:

"Create a table with an ID field and assign a primary key to that field. Save the table"

This is just an example and not a real question. You actually have to do it with Access in front of you so make sure you know where to find what because the timer is ticking ;-)

btw the help option will be disabled during the exam for obvious reasons...

  • The beta exams are in session now for Access 2010, so see if you can find a test center that is participating.  Once they determine the pass score, and if you have achieved it during the beta test; you will have earned the certification.  This also gives you the opportunity see what's on the exam.  Also the Excel 2010/Word 2010 expert betas started this past Friday.
